Recently Bindeez beads, known in the USA as Aqua Dots, were recalled because they contained a chemical similar to the date rape drug GHB. When swallowed they can cause unconsciousness, seizures, drowsiness, coma and occasionally death.

US global toy company Mattel recalled over 20,000,000 toys in 2007.

The toys, made in China and Mexico, feature lead paint which can cause poisoning, or small detachable parts which can cause choking, or magnets which can cause intestinal perforation and death if swallowed.

You can check to see if a toy is on the latest US recall lists via Safetoy's SEARCH on our home page, or contact the authorities in your country.
